Taste of Excellence Awards
Wednesday, 18 November 2015
Thursday 12th November was the eighteenth annual Lincolnshire Life Taste of Excellence Awards and we were excited to have been asked to present the award for 'Wedding Venue of the Year 2015'. So, off we went to Laceby near Grimsby to The Oaklands Hall hotel.
Upon arrival we had a champagne and canapé reception, followed by a delicious five course meal. It's safe to say we were stuffed!!
Lincolnshire Life had chosen the International Bomber Command Centre as their designated charity to benefit from the funds raised at the awards. An interesting speech was given by Nicky Barr - Project Director - on the process of the Bomber Command Centre at Canwick Hill, Lincoln - it was certainly an education to us!
After dessert, Jan was asked to the stage to present the award. The three finalists for 'Wedding Venue of the Year' were: Washingborough Hall Hotel, Stoke Rochford and Hemswell Court Hotel. Washingborough Hall Hotel were the winners!
It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening celebrating our thriving county!
